Adult Faith Formation
“Learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:10
St. Charles Parish offers continuing formation in the faith for all adults through regular series of talks, discussions, and other opportunities for growing in understanding of our beliefs.
Bible Studies
As Catholics we are continuously invited to deepen our relationship with the Lord through study of His Word. St. Charles is home to a variety of Bible studies that meet weekly, focusing on themes central to the current liturgical season of the Church.
Check out our bible study page for more information and to register for upcoming studies.
tHOMISTIC INSTITUTE LECTURES
St. Charles is pleased to host guest lectures provided by the Thomistic Institute, an outreach of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies in DC. From their website: The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square. The thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Universal Doctor of the Church, is our touchstone.
ocia (formerly rcia)
the order of christian initiation for adults
Would you like to explore the Catholic faith in an even deeper way? Would you like to begin the journey of entering the Catholic Church? Then you are invited to join OCIA (formerly known as RCIA). The Order of Christian Initiation is not a “sign-up” for becoming a Catholic. It is a time of no obligation, during which we pursue the Truth and the Meaning of life, answers to eternal questions, and the truths, teachings, and practices of the Catholic Church.
The next OCIA course occurs on Mondays at 7pm in Room 105 beginning in September
Note: Under normal circumstances, those entering the OCIA formation process are encouraged to do so with the parish in which they reside since that Church is usually best-suited to meet the pastoral and community needs of OCIA participants. See our registration page for more information on parish boundaries.
