Tuesday Evening Bible Study: Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible

Begins Tuesday, September 10, 2024

8-week session.

Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm in room 105 of the Parish Center.

Many Catholics want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word, but they give up because it seems so complicated. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you get the “big picture” by showing how fourteen narrative books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church. Presenter Jeff Cavins shows you how to read the Bible so that you can actually understand it. Aided by the unique color-coded Bible Timeline® Chart, which arranges the key people, places, and events of Scripture in chronological order, Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will help you discover the story of salvation history and understand how you fit into God’s plan. This eight-session study program includes video presentations that explore all twelve time periods of The Bible Timeline Chart.

Tuesday Evening Bible Study: Psalms: The School of Prayer

Begins Tuesday, September 10, 2024

11-week session.

Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm in room 103 of the Parish Center.

The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. At the heart of the Bible are the psalms, prayers from God that help us to pray. In Psalms: The School of Prayer, discover how these sacred hymns become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds. Learn how to meditate fruitfully on the captivating words of the psalms using lectio divina, and study the many ways the psalms foretell the life and mission of Jesus.

Women’s Group: Walking with Purpose

“That you and I may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith.” (Romans 1:12)

Walking with Purpose gives women the opportunity to embark on a journey where they learn how they can navigate everyday challenges and struggles with the help of Biblical teachings, the love of Jesus Christ, and the support of other women.

At Walking with Purpose at St. Charles Borromeo, we place returning and new participants together in small groups for each study.

It is our hope that women make their experience at Walking with Purpose a stepping stone in their journey to build upon their relationship with Jesus Christ and their friendships with women who can walk alongside them in this journey.

A $10 registration fee is requested to help with hospitality and administrative costs during the study.

In addition, a copy of the book is needed to participate in group discussions.
