order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Would you like to explore the Catholic faith in an even deeper way? Would you like to begin the journey of entering the Church? Then you are invited to join OCIA (formerly known as RCIA). The Order of Christian Initiation is not a “sign-up” for becoming a Catholic. It is a time of no obligation, during which we pursue the Truth and the Meaning of life, answers to eternal questions, and the truths, teachings, and practices of the Catholic Church.

The next OCIA course occurs on Mondays at 7pm in Room 105 beginning in September of 2024.

Note: Under normal circumstances, those entering the OCIA formation process do so with the Catholic Church nearest their place of residence since that Church is usually best-suited to meet the pastoral and community needs of OCIA participants. More information on parish boundaries can be found on our parish registration page.

If you would like to begin your OCIA journey at St. Charles, please complete the OCIA Interest Form below and we will contact you about the next steps.

would you like to volunteer to serve on our Ocia team?

Do you have a heart for sharing your faith? We are looking for Catholic adults who have received the Sacraments of Initiation, are well-formed in the Catholic faith, and who have a heart for and are able to help teach OCIA and assist with administrative tasks to enable a smooth process for our OCIA program.

Fill out the interest form below if you’re interested in joining our OCIA team and helping to accompany adults on their journey to full communion with the Church.
